Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B in a signature mix. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European festivals and clubs up to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name was Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician singing and playing at the church in town. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You a House 12, came out only in Japan. It's been remixed several times, and has become a staple of her live show. The Fighting Temptations was the another soundtrack on which she sang. In 2005, she was commissioned as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral in the production staged by Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
