Kolber is from Pennsylvania who graduated with a diploma in graduate studies at The University of Miami. Kolber began her career working at CBS Sports New York City as a video coordinator. While working at WTVJ-TV, Miami, she was awarded the Sports Emmy. She also worked at WPLG-TV Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach in Florida. In 1993, as ESPN2 began to be introduced that year, she joined as one of the anchors who first joined it. She worked at ESPN2 for the ensuing three years, before resigning for Fox Sports. Her return to ESPN as host in 1999.
